Walking, looking and collecting at Media City
“How can I use the city in my work”? While travelling on the Metro, I thought about the first presentation and how I had enjoyed the soundtrack, “Right Here, Right Now” and then hearing Dave Haslams’ exciting story of his city . Thinking about the Fat Boy Slim album, “Halfway between the Gutter and the Stars”, led me to an embryo idea. Look up and look down.

Collecting colours
|
Experimenting with dyed fabrics, layers, stitch and foiling using colours from the Lowry interior |
Using found images from the “ground and the sky “ and placing these on the “wall”. Outsider art, graffiti art and mark making are themes emerging in my images.
Exciting work Louise, I really like your fabric pieces, you have translated your images well, I'm liking your photos too, the one of reflection, and the wet tiles, what a fab pattern!
ReplyDeleteWow I tend to just dance to fatboy slim rather than listen to him, your colours are just as vibrant and uplifting as the song 'Right here, Right now'!! You should be really proud of what you have produced so far, looking forward to seeing it in the tutorial tomorrow.
