Ethereal body pieces by Nora Fok

If you are inspired by knitted threads take a moment to hear the artist talking about her practise and what has inspired her. I think she makes wearble sculpture. I am also starting to think about how I will make and present my X work for the exhibition.

I have admired this artist for a long time. She uses natural forms and fine synthetic threads. She knits and sews each design, sometimes attaching metal findings. I think her best works are those that expand around or hang from the body. The clip shows her making as well as showing how the work moves on the body when worn.  Enjoy.

  1. It's lovely to hear her speak about her work. I never actually realised she hand-knitted everything! I really like her use of white, so ethereal. It's interesting that she talks about being a wife and a mother, and how something as simple as going food shopping inspired her work.

  2. I love Nora Fok. SOme of Jewellery resembles organic forms, which can inspire me to find shapes my wire.

  3. Stunning!! Has she got one of her pieces hanging up at the MOSI?
I'm loving the delicate manner in which she works.... Nature rocks!

  4. Did not know about the MOSI work, I must go and see it. The photos are brill, but seeing the actual work must be even better.
