Cath Kidston has become very popular in the last year or so, with her very own chain of shops opening all over the UK.
She creates many prints for fashion and interiors.
Although her work is very feminine, I thought you might appreciate her use of pattern and colour, and the rise of popularity of hankies today!
She has a store on Kings Street, Deansgate. Perhaps if you visited you could see how she has displayed them which could help you see how you want to display them in the exhibition?
I love Caths' designs, I cannot work like this, so I envy her, especially how she has made a successful business with her designs. They are sort of vintage but contemporary as well. Looking at these hankies has made me think of cropping circles and squares from my designs and repeating them like a “spotted” handkerchief, seen in fairy tale illustrations. Thank you Hannah, your post has got me thinking of lots of new patterns. I better not go to the shop I will end up buying loads of stuff!
