This installation shows a huge strip of grass that runs through the whole village. I love the photos on the website of children playing on the grass, people sitting on the grass, rather than the floor. the piece of art became something for people to interact with, to enjoy. It became a part of the environment, something to be enjoyed, rather than something to be looked at. If this had been done in a gallery would people have walked on it?It got me thinking about the differences / similarities between street art and installation art, especially when the purpose of the piece is to facilitate interaction. The difference kind of disappears, the two different groups become the same thing.
Maybe this is high-class street art?
